7 Day Writing Challenge – Day 5; Dear Me….Write A Letter To Myself

This one was interesting seeing as I had to write the letter at the start of the day but as if I was writing it at the END of the day. I felt a little silly sitting there in my pj’s writing about what a constructive day I had had, almost predicting what I wanted to have happened. Which made me think a little too deeply for 8 in the morning…..are we really in charge of what happens to us? Are we the ones that decide? Or, did I just write a glorified to do list? Let see, shall we?

Dear V

Wow, what a day I had today. Ridiculously full on! I’m so tired. The walk to the beach was just lovely, I’m glad I did that. I felt so invigorated afterward, I should do it more often.

I’m disappointed that the library didn’t have any more Chris Carter books – I’m on a roll with this author and I need to find his next book! I finished the last novel within a week – such a fantastic writer! So now, I’m on a mission….!

It’s been a while since I researched Athena’s Scottish ancestry isn’t it? I’m glad I took the time to do some research – even better, there have been a few record updates over the past year so next time I’ll have a more definite plan on which line to research.

Of course, with footy at the end of the day, catching up with friends is always fun while the boys play. Thank god the weather is getting warmer and the nights are getting longer. But the season is now over – which means the summer sports will be starting soon.

And now its 9pm, time to lay back and start my new book – Come Closer by Sara Gran. Rest  well, you deserve it 🙂

Yours truly

Moi x

This exercise was a little different – I wasn’t sure how to write to myself! So my apologies if it looks undone somehow.

Anyway – I can tell you that most of those things did indeed happen today. However I was unable to sit down to research. By the time I came back from the library, I wanted to have some lunch and read a couple of the magazines I brought home before the kids came back from school. I did manage to finish them – uninterrupted, in peace! – and I had this sudden urge to start clearing out the garage. This job is LONG overdue. The sun was shining, I felt like some manual labour (who doesn’t!?) and off I went. I spent 2.5 hours emptying boxes, re-stacking boxes, throwing out broken pieces of plastic…….needless to say I am nowhere near done. But it was a start.

Do you think that the letter had anything to do with my super-duper constructive day? I can’t say what I would’ve done today if I hadn’t written the letter but I’m thinking maybe I should do this more often….. 🙂

    • I have to admit, it didn’t come as easy as I thought it would. At first I thought, a letter? Easy!! And then as I sat down to write it I felt stumped. Was I supposed to write it as I wanted my day to pan out or just a letter in general? Like I mentioned before, I think it was a glorified to-do list! Good luck with it, dont forget to show me 🙂 xx

  3. I’m so going to try this. Tomorrow morning!
It seems a weird twist to write it as if it already happened though. Should be interesting.
