Sexual Frustration? No! Writing Frustration!!

It’s been a tough week, writing wise. My muse went on a holiday – with absolutely no warning. The cheeky sod left me high and dry.

But he’s back. Still reeling from holidayitis…..but at least he’s back.

During my dry spell, I took the opportunity to think about what to do in terms of my blog. And it’s decided. It’s time to shake this puppy up! I had a squizz around some other blogs and I came across many transformed sites – completely different to what they were when they started. Changes of names; site layouts; content.

I don’t want to change my blogs’ name. I find it really identifies with who I am and how I write. Even if no one knows how to pronounce it! The layout? It’s staying. So….what’s left…..ah yes, the content.

I need to ADD content because if I subtract, well, I’m gonna be kissing goodbye 2 and a half months worth of work. So what am I going to add? I think I need to routine it up a little. My fellow blogger Vicki over at The View Outside went through a similar situation a couple of weeks ago when she re-evaluated her site and made some adjustments. And with my flatlining stats I think I need to as well.

I did mention in my last post that I wanted to give back to the readers – and this is still true. But I honestly feel at this point in my writing I don’t have a lot of advice to give so I will be using my life and experiences as examples. What has shaped me to be the writer I am today? Lots of things. And I’m going to share them with you.

First off will be the countries I have visited and how they inspire me still to this day. Traveling is a muse that will stay with me forever.

Music is a medium that inspires me to no end. It was my constant companion throughout my ever-changing childhood.

Books. Literature. What do I love curling up on the sofa with?

Along with the above, I am still going to discuss my WIP and how I’m progressing with that.

So. Clean slate. Wipe it all away and start afresh. Exciting times!

** if anyone has any suggestions for my fresh start, please don’t be shy, let me know!**

  1. Good for you!!!!! 🙂

Now that I’m working to a list (I have my schedule written on a postcard that kind of hovers around on my desk, sorry, dining room table lol), a schedule, I’m feeling much more positive about my blog, and definitely more focused. In fact, since I announced my schedule I’ve had far more hits, more comments, and a few new followers, so it’s definitely working for me 🙂

Good luck honey, looking forward to your posts 🙂

Nothing wrong with change. I think you are very brave to articulate it. I was just going to change without telling anyone, do you think they will notice.lol

  1. What’s in a name? | Eternal Atlantis - May 9, 2012

[…] Giving a name or title to something can either have you thinking about what it means or cloud one’s judgement. Doesn’t really matter as long as it makes sense to the person who named it. Regardless, I want to explain the title of my blog and what it means to me. I got the idea from Virginia at Poeta Officium in a comment she made in relation to her post. […]
