Goals For The Week

Firstly, I’d like to apologise to one and all for my lack of communication since last Tuesday’s Open Mic Night. This week has been super busy and I’ve been falling asleep way before schedule! I’ll be checking in to everyone’s blogs after I post this – I’ve missed you all! 🙂

Now, on to the goals from last week. I think I mentioned last week that I didn’t want to overwhelm myself with too many things to do because I wanted to make progress on The Crucifix Killer. Which I have. I’m almost finished and already experiencing withdrawals. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book, The Night Sculptor, which is the latest of Chris Carter books. Not sure what I’m going to do after I read that one – the next one wont be out till 2013….!

My main goal this week was to work on I Am The Damned, add a couple of scenes. The only thing I managed was to edit what I have written so far – which has now brought the word count down to 9,911.

So, the goal for this week is to add another 1,000 words to it and fine tune a couple of scenes that need a bit more work. I also have to nut out some back story but I need to subtly work it into the present as I’m not a fan of flash back scenes.  I’ve already dedicated a scene to one which is more than enough if you ask me!

Again, keeping it short and simple. And again, I wish all of you out there with to do lists for the week all the success. Sometimes this writing thing we do is a lot harder than people think! 🙂

  1. It always surprises me how much behind the scenes stuff goes into the creation of a book, especially now that I’m in the middle of writing one! It’s certainly not as simple as putting words up on the screen in a nice straightforward workflow.
It’s sure a heckuva lot of fun though.
Don’t worry about the blogging stuff. I think it’s one of those things that ebbs and flows, whenever one has time the blog will always be there.
Good luck with your words! 🙂
