Blog Tag – And I’m It!

Anyone fancy a bit of blog chasey? Well, I’ve been tagged by Vikki at The View Outside, and the rules for this fun game are as follows:

You must post the rules
Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post
Create eleven new questions to ask the people you’ve tagged (or use the existing ones)
Tag eleven people with a link to your post
Let them know they’ve been tagged

Ok, here are my questions and answers…..

1. Who is your favourite author?

Well, at the moment I’m plowing through Kathy Reichs‘ novels like some sort of literary bulldozer. I really enjoy her pace and narrative, it makes for easy but gripping reading.

2. If you could live in another time period, what period would that be?

It’s a toss-up between Ancient Greece and Edwardian England. Whenever I think of Ancient Greece I think of sunshine, warmth and beautiful dresses. England on the other hand gives me the creepies a bit (not sure if I’ve been influenced by historically incorrect movies) – no matter though because I’d still like to experience it.
3. You’ve been published, and you’ve just landed a movie deal. They ask you, which 2 actors/actresses do YOU want, to play the 2 main roles in the movie of your book?

The first actress that came to mind to play my main character, Emma, is Winona Ryder. She does ‘vague’ so well, and Emma is definitely vague at the best of times! My other main character is a toss-up between Emma’s ward nurse Gary or her psychologist, Dr Bergen. I think a younger Christopher Lee would be perfect for Dr Bergen.

4. What is your most treasured possession? (not people or animals)

Is this one of those ‘if you could save one thing from a house fire’ type of question? I’ve had a little think and I would have to say the poems my grandmother wrote. She gave me a couple as gifts when I was younger and I have them safely tucked away.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world, money no object (just imagine you’re Stephen King lol) where would you live?

Paris. No question. Paris.

6. Who is your idol/hero?

I don’t have one person I look up to – I have a handful of gorgeous, inspiring friends who hold my hand when I need it, listen to me when I need to vent, laugh with me (and at me!) when things are great and cry right beside me when things are not. These are the women I value most and consider myself lucky to have them in my life…… and they know who they are! 🙂
7. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up, did you achieve it?

I changed my mind so many times I can’t even begin to tell you…….but from the age of 8 or 9 I wanted to be a published writer. Did I achieve it? I’m getting there. Watch this space 🙂
8. What’s your perfect day?

Get up around 5am. BIG cup of coffee. Write. Breakfast at my favourite caf with a good book. A spot of shopping before lunch with a girlfriend. Said girlfriend decides not to go back to work and it turns a little boozy. Spur of the moment decision to go and paint the town red. Go home to get dolled up. Go out to paint the town red. Late night snack before heading home to bed.
9. You get a HUGE advance for your first novel, let’s say 250 thousand dollars or pounds. What’s the first thing you’d buy?

A self planned round the world ticket for my family. Destinations? Brazil, Greece, Paris, London, the rest of Europe and maybe an island. Haven’t decided yet.
10. How many times a day do you check your e mail?

I’m a little obsessed with email and the social network. Waste of my time really when all I get are emails from Cooking.com or Your Daily Horoscope!

These are my questions for the tag-ees:

1/ If you could change your name, what would you change it to and why?

2/ Name 3 things you couldn’t live without (not people or animals)

3/ Which do you prefer – beach or forest? Why?

4/ Do you have a ‘I need to do this by the time I am ……‘ age? Which one is it?

5/ Laptop or desktop? Which one do you prefer?

6/ Are you still friends with your best friend from childhood?

7/ If you could critique any book, which one would it be? Why?

8/ Was your first love worth it?

9/ Where in the world do you feel most at home?

10/ Do you talk with your hands (ie do you gesture wildly when you talk?)

11/ How well do you know the history of your country of birth?
